Picking A Project

I spent a looooooooooooooooooong time looking for the exact photo that I wanted and then I realized something...I am fairly sure that each and every one of you...(like all four of you :P) have amazing imaginations, so...

PICTURE THIS!

A police line-up with five of your favorite hotties. For me this would include: Johnny Depp, Jared Leto, Jensen Ackles, Matt Smith (no judgement :P), and Emma Stone (just kidding...maybe :P).

Now, imagine choosing one of *your* five.

Yeah...

Not so easy, right?

That's how I'm feeling right now. I have lots of shiny book ideas to choose from. None of them are tugging on me. But I do need to write. NEED to.

So, what's a girl to do? I'm so lost right now. I'm sure I have that same dazed look on my face that I get when I finish a project and don't know what else to do with the rest of my life. Even if my muse were to suddenly show up on my doorstep with a forgiving half-smile and a pocket full of inspiration to push me through this slump...I'd have no idea which direction to go.

What do you do when faced with a bazillion shiny ideas and the intense need to write? How do you choose?

  1. Hmmm *thinks of some recommendations*
-write a chapter of each idea & then decide from there which one speaks to you most at the moment continue.
-maybe think of which idea would be the *easiest* for you to write right now, to get you back into the game and through a slump. if it's going to be a difficult book, maybe that's not right the choice?!
-curl up in a ball and cry because writing is hard.
    good luck *hug*

    1. Awww...it's my favorite ginger! *hugs* I think I've written a chapter of all the shinies. So maybe I'll curl up in a ball because writing is HARD.

  2. Lol I honestly don't know what to suggest. Maybe read through them and see which one you like best so far? Or try and plot them out and see which one appeals to you the most (ie; the most ideas etc...)

  3. This is not usually a thing I struggle with -- though I do keep pushing Heracles back every time I SAY I'm going to write him, and write other things instead. Who says you can't write all of them at the same time? One a day until one of them grabs you and makes you all theirs?

    1. This might work. I find that I want to write more than one of them...not just one of them. So...yeah...I'm likin' this idea.

  4. I say pick one, any one, and dive in. Just start writing. It's the only thing that's going to drag you over the I-don't-feel-like writing hurdle. Try to make writing a daily habit. Even if what you write is ugly and useless, it helps to put words on the page. Sounds so easy, huh. It's not, I know. But it's the first step to finding your muse.
